The rainbow trout is the most popular and common species of trout in British Columbia and can be found in the lakes and rivers of the Chilcotin Ark. They can grow to be between 30 and 75 cm long and are easily recognized by their bluish-green back, the silver sides and belly and black spots on the body and fins. The interior type also has a reddish stripe along its sides which is not present in the coastal rainbow trout.
